In the US, after February 17, 2009, analog television is being turned off. If you are currently using an antenna to receive over-the-air television and your TV does not have a digital TV receiver, you will need a converter box to continue watching TV. Converter boxes take in digital TV, which is broadcast in standard definition, enhanced definition, or high definition and convert the signals to a format which an analog television is capable of displaying. These converter boxes typically cost $40-$60 retail. Conveniently the US government has started a coupon program to subsidize the cost of two of these boxes per household. Check out the Government converter box coupons website to claim your coupon.
